What is a Spartan Sprint?

A Spartan Sprint is the entry level Spartan Race. It's a classic obstacle course experience featuring 20 obstacles. You'll run for 5 kilometres on an off-road trail course usually with water and/or mud. You'll climb over walls, under barbed wire and up ropes. You'll traverse monkey bars, carry heavy stuff and even throw a spear - it's a LOT of fun.

It looks so intimidating. I don't think I can do it.

I thought the exact same thing before signing up for my first race. I even chickened out a few times. It wasn't until I learn that my aunt, who's a decade or two older than me, had already completed a Tough Mudder, that I started to think "well, maybe I COULD do one". First you've got to BELIEVE it's possible and knowing someone who's done it helps immensely. Taking this online course is the next best thing to knowing someone in person who's done one.

What if I can't even do 1 burpee?

The finish line, in this case it's completing a Spartan Sprint, is the same for everyone but... the starting line is different for everyone. I've designed this course with this in mind. Can't do a burpee? No worries. Let's start with push-ups. Can't do a push-up? No worries. Let's start with planks and build up from there.

What if I hate running?

Many people don't like running. It's usually because they try running too fast too soon. Then they get an injury and think "running is not for me". That's why I've dedicated a whole module to learning how to enjoy running.

I’m an experienced athlete, will I still get value out of this course?

Yes, but only if you haven’t done a Spartan Race. You’re probably familiar with training fundamentals and mental toughness but this course will help you learn what the Spartan Race Obstacles are, what techniques to use and how to tailor your training for this type of event.

Can I do this with a friend?

Definitely! If you do both this course and the Spartan Race with a friend, you'll both likely to do much better than on your own. I highly recommend getting a buddy you can train with. It's more enjoyable and you can hold each other accountable.
